Multipoint extensometer sensor for drilling
A sensor to measure settlement and heave
The extensometer is designed to measure changes in distance between drilled anchors placed at a defined depth, and a measuring head located at the surface.
Rods connect each anchor to the head, where measurements are made with a depth gauge or displacement sensors.
The extensometer head is adapted according to the measurement range, up to 100 mm (3.9″) or 200 mm (7.9″), the number of anchors (points) to be measured, and the type of rod used.
The extensometer rods are available in fiberglass or stainless steel.
Each type is inserted in a nylon sheath to avoid friction between the soil/cement and the rod.
Measurements can be made manually with a depth gauge or remotely with vibrating string or 4-20mA displacement transducers, connected to a recorder or a portable reading station.
The multipoint extensometer sensor for drilling allows monitoring of :
- Measurements of settlement and rock displacements.
